Is the Kingdom Key Mythic live in Fortnite?

Yes. The Mythic Kingdom Key is live as part of the September 17 Kingdom Hearts crossover. Epic’s launch announcement directly names a Mythic Kingdom Key in the description of the Level Up Override.

What abilities does the Kingdom Key have?

Epic confirms two core combat functions:

• melee combos for close-range attacks;
• a lightning attack that calls down a bolt on opponents.

Exact damage values, cooldowns and balance tuning are not stated in the launch article, so this guide does not invent numbers. Those stats should only be added after verified current-build testing.

How do you get the Mythic Kingdom Key?

The clearest confirmed method is the Level Up Override. Epic says it spawns a Mythic Kingdom Key for each squad member at their current location.

Can you start with a Kingdom Key?

During KINGDOM HEARTS Power Hours on September 19, 2026, every player started with a Kingdom Key and a Sea Salt Ice Cream. Epic ran two windows: 2–4 PM ET and 9–11 PM ET.

Those Power Hours have ended. They were separate from the Level Up Override, which remains the first-party confirmed Mythic acquisition method described by Epic.

Do you need to buy Sora?

No. Sora is a paid Item Shop cosmetic, while the Mythic Kingdom Key is Battle Royale gameplay content.

The Shop also sells a cosmetic Keyblade Pickaxe. Cosmetic ownership does not grant the Mythic weapon.

What is still unconfirmed?

The launch announcement confirms the weapon’s core abilities and the Level Up Override acquisition method, but it does not publish a complete stat card. Until current-build testing verifies them, this page does not claim exact:

• per-hit damage;
• lightning damage;
• cooldown duration;
• charge count;
• durability;
• normal-match drop rates outside the confirmed Override route.
